Going beyond that, the local professional soccer team, Greenvile Triumph, have a pretty big supporters group that I part of and help run, the Reedy River Riot. We tailgate every home game and drink beer before marching over to the game. I don have enough fingers to count how many people have come to our events not knowing anyone and now have a ton of friends because they are part of the group!

Hey all! I would love some advice on fitting 3 car seats across in an x3. My daughter is 5 (and a tiny thing) and in a Britax Marathon 70. My son is 2.5 and we just swapped his marathon out for a Radian rxt. We were planning on swapping my daughter out to a Radian as well. I think your bigger issue is going to be liability insurance. Obviously I don know for sure what that will cost, but motorsports are very dangerous and death or debilitating injury are both possible and occur with some frequency. It not insurmountable, but could be expensive for the school to hold insurance like that (as in they may want, like, $5M liability insurance in the event a student is killed during a race).

Hot hatches, for example, all have manuals, and the manual variants sell well enough that automakers don’t have plans to discontinue them anytime soon (even in the US). On the used market electric cars are a steal for the same reason to. A new gen leaf will be a top contender for me if the prices fall dramatically when lease turn ins flood the market. You get cheap commuting/errand driving within your electric range. You get the same go anywhere fuel anywhere road trip capability. Cost splits the difference between EV and ICE, but you still get a fairly large tax credit. Also, you can make 5 PHEVs with the batteries it would take to make 1 BEV, which is noteworthy in the face of no reprieve in sight to the limited supply of raw materials, as well as limited supply of manufacturing capacity (this is mostly a human issue not enough trained professionals. not readily solved by just “build more factories.”).

Thank you for your reply Nightstorm_NoS, my budget was 1/2 off that, and I know people are going to say that if you have a low budget you should steer clear from a BMW, electric or not. Every one in my neighborhood it seems has now taken delivery of their model 3 has they are all over the place. It a cool car but it is by no mean a city car, which is what I need. We have a ICE Suv for long range, for now. I have taken delivery of the i3 REX and I can say for sure, I would have been frustrated but the Bev version. Consider it cheating but the Rex extender has proven so far to be worth the extra $$. I coded the car and I have driven with 174 miles of range, light foot and taking advantage of steep downhills with battery Soc hold. I can charge or I can pump, having flexibility is sure sweet.

(Plus, it really nice to get in a car that already the right temperature, than to get in a freezing car during the winter, or a sweltering car in the summer.)Note: I bought a 2015, certified preowned, every single option about 8 months ago, and it the best car purchase I ever made.

With BMWs unless you want to play the repair game (DIY as much as possible, save up for catastrophic repairs), it best to budget accordingly, and look for a lease or used car with a third party warranty. Definitely at least until you done with car payments. You don want to to be paying for your car at the same time you get a $3K+ repair billThat isn necessarily a bad thing. A Civic is a small, reliable vehicle. One of my biggest complaints with small cars up until the late 2000 was that everyone assumed that you wanted a bare bones vehicle. If you look at my post history, for example, we have a Mazda3s Grand Touring, and an Acura TSX. We want small cars that are easy to park, relatively inexpensive to maintain, etc. but that have nice features like upgraded stereo systems with Bluetooth, leather, blind spot monitoring, a quieter ride, keyless entry and start, etc. It relatively light, so it easier on the brakes and tires which last longer than if I bought something bigger, we almost always are in the car alone, or with one another. Very rarely, we will have a 3rd and/or a 4th passenger, which our cars do just fine for the once in a blue moon that someone does actually use the back seat.

One of my friends got a 6 figure job out of school (although the cost of living in his area is extremely high so is probably the equivalent of making 80K elsewhere).His first “fun toy” purchase was a Yamaha R6 and that wasn until a year later when he was more established in his job, settled down after his move, got all the basics (furniture, dining room sets, bed, etc.) etc.
