My 2005 X3 has 3 pumps presumably, 1 for the windshield, 1 for back hatch and 1 for headlights. I read that the pump on the in baord side of tank is for windshield. I replaced that, and windshield spray still not working (other two function fine). I flipped the pumps, putting the new on the outboard side, still no windshield spray (while other two worked fine). I started to change out one on rear of tank, but it was different (bigger) than the two on the front (and the fluid line seemed to go off to the rear of car.
We also rented an SUV for the trip, and will be spending a fair amount of time in the car, driving at least several times per day. The cheapest SUV we could get was a BMW X3 (I’m kind of excited about this!). The X5 was also an option, but I didn’t think we needed the extra space though now I’m second guessing that. Will the Sureride fit RF (rear facing) in the X3? I’m very opposed to FF him yet, even temporarily. He is still RF (rear facing) at home in an Advocate G3 in my car and a Marathon G3 in DH’s. The Sureride was purchased specifically for travel after reading other posts on this board. I didn’t want to mess with noodles for a good install with our Scenera back up seat, though I have gotten good at the noodle less install of the Scenera since then. Thoughts?

Yeah the concerns I have lie in the basics. For example, there’s discussion on TMC about things like the steering wheel not being straight at “neutral” on many 3s. To most people this is a small detail. Many may never notice. But to me, as someone who cares a lot about driving and precision, that would be an issue. So if SCs say it’s not a big deal, and owners say it’s not a big deal, all because the product isn’t aimed at enthusiasts, then that’s a potentially greater issue. Not “too raw” at all, I did several 3000 Mile road trips with it and I never had an issue with not being comfortable. I daily drove it for 3 years with no issue. The only issue I ever had was the “angry screaming racecar” which attracted too much attention and it wasn suitable for the snow in CO. Also, people in the US suck. 2 years in Germany with it, no issues. First week back in the US someone door dinged me even though I parked in BFE. I miss it but I don will admit, if I kept the M2 it would be less stressful than having a US spec 3 in Germany for road trips and likely more fun on the ring again but take the good with the bad. I still take the 3 over it again any day. Side note, currently being ICE by an Audi.
