But the reality is that a lot of those PHEVs from BMWs and other tend to have ridiculously short EV range (25km and less), and I be willing to bet that many people buying them don even bother charging them. And their EV mode will typically be under 100hp so you have to drive like an old granny and never get on the highway to remain in BEV mode.

People talking about their “attainable dream car” could be talking about something interesting or uncommon that they been looking for and saving towards for years (good), or just a pretty standard hot hatch everyone already knows about or even a fucking passenger van apparently (bad). The term kind of looses all meaning when people just slap it on a car that they bought because they liked it and could afford it, not a car that is actually aspirational to most people. It doesn even need to be expensive to be aspirational, it could be something unique and uncommon like a rare older model that hard to find or someone importing a car they wanted as a kid but was never sold in their country, but a Fiesta and a Transit? It just a bit lame IMO, and opening a post talking about dream cars in the title only to find out it referring to those two is pretty naff.

There are so many things to consider, including whether I want an infant seat or convertible seat and if I want it to be compatible with the stroller. The Jaguar XK R is the second most powerful car on this list with over 500 raging horses under the hood; it looks fantastic and has a supercharger. So why is it so far down on this list? Weight. Despite having twice the engine displacement and 150 extra horsepower, the XK R is 16 seconds behind the TT RS, the next slowest car on the list, around the Nrburgring. Sixteen seconds! My i3 has the 20″ tires without winter tires, you will need to use Traction Control, drive carefully and slower than you probably used to. I don feel like the car is going to lose control on straights; its mostly in turning in snow/ice and definitely resistant braking gives the whole car a shimmy slide move which is disconcerting. My rear wheel drive M3 with blizzaks was almost like driving with an SUV in snow much more control.

We tried all the infant seats that were suggested as being “good for small cars” none worked till we came across the Cybex Aton. It fits great in my tiny back seat. Not only does the handle stay in the up position for driving but it is actually a good inch or more shorter front to back than the chicco. You also are correct but more Inline with my thinking. For example the ZF8 transmission is in every bmw in the line up from suv to M5. It’s a nice commuter transmission but doesn’t have any business being in the M5 IMO. But bmw made ZFs biggest transmission purchase in the companies history to you can imagine the discount on a per unit basis for that.

We have two Diono Radian RXTs and I’m not sure what the third carseat is. I’m thinking a Graco or Safety 1st? All three are across in the backseat. One Radian is forward facing my 3 year old on the passenger side, the other Radian is rear facing in the middle for the baby and the third car seat (which will not be in there all the time) is forward facing his 2.5 year old on the driver side. I have a Kia Sorento, but anyone will tell you those Diono Radians are super slim and work well in a lot of vehicles.
